There may be times when achieving a perfect match between image resolution and aspect ratio is difficult.
Black borders may appear around the image when it does not fully match the project’s aspect ratio.
To correct this, resize the image so it fills the frame properly.
In Shotcut:
Select (highlight) the image clip in the timeline.
Open the
Filters
panel.
Click the
+ (Add Filter)
button.
Scroll down and choose
Size, Position & Rotate
.
The image will now appear outlined in the preview window.
To resize and adjust the image:
Move your cursor to a corner handle of the image.
Click and drag inward to reduce the size.
Click and drag outward to enlarge the image until the black borders disappear.
If needed, click and drag the image to reposition it within the frame for proper alignment.
