• There may be times when achieving a perfect match between image resolution and aspect ratio is difficult.
• Black borders may appear around the image when it does not fully match the project’s aspect ratio.
• To correct this, resize the image so it fills the frame properly.

In Shotcut:

• Select (highlight) the image clip in the timeline.
• Open the Filters panel.
• Click the + (Add Filter) button.
• Scroll down and choose Size, Position & Rotate.
• The image will now appear outlined in the preview window.

To resize and adjust the image:

• Move your cursor to a corner handle of the image.
• Click and drag inward to reduce the size.
• Click and drag outward to enlarge the image until the black borders disappear.
• If needed, click and drag the image to reposition it within the frame for proper alignment.
